  • How to get involved

  • Is it time for you to experience Freedom?

Is it time for you to take a spiritual inventory of your life? Would you like to examine some of the areas of your life, both past and present, where you may not be walking freely in Christ? Most people do not experience complete freedom in Christ. We want to see the leaders and servants at the Oldham Campus experience that freedom!

So, we are inviting you to take part in a Freedom Appointment.  This is a workshop designed for you to be spiritually cleansed, so that you can walk in freedom, and be used by God to the fullest. In this 4 hour workshop, you will walk through a booklet by Dr. Neil T. Anderson with a partner where you will look at past experiences, briefly discuss those and pray over them.

You are encouraged to invite your own partner, preferably a close friend or accountability partner. If you do not have one, we will match you up with someone.  Please check out the site for dates and times of the next scheduled Freedom Appointments.

Here's a brief testimony of a recent participant:

"... the Freedom Training/Exercise we went through last Saturday has definitely pushed me to a level of freedom that I have never had my entire adult life.  Confession and renouncement of sin in all the areas that were covered in the training has finally crushed Satan's ability to yank my chain about past sin in my life.  It has made me more spiritually alive and effective as spiritual leader."

So here's our challenge: go to the links on the right and select a date to sign up!

If you've been through the Freedom Appointment and would like to share your thoughts on the experience, please click on the word (comment) below and tell us!

  • Can you imagine a church in here?

On Sunday, we had our Prayer Open House at the Oldham campus facility in Crestwood Station. It was such a great day of prayer. We prayed for a speedy renovation process, for the construction workers that will be there in the year ahead, and for the many people that will one day step foot in that soon-to-be church building. We watched as men, women, and families prayed together.  We saw a family sit in a circle in the middle of what will be the worship auditorium and pray together. We saw an elder sit and pray for nearly 15 minutes. We saw a lady walk up and down what will be the hallways and isles, placing her hand on the walls and poles as she prayed. What a sight to see!

Although, not everyone liked what they saw. One little boy walked up to his dad and asked, "Do we have to go to church here Dad?" We laughed! The child was not impressed with the "yet to be renovated" church.

Russ Broomell, an Oldham campus member, shares his perspective from praying at the building on Sunday:

Walking through what will eventually become the Oldham Campus is an interesting experience to say the least. The exterior looks pretty good, with a nice brick facade. From the parking lot it doesn’t look too bad. The interior of the building, on the other hand, is another story.  There are holes in the walls and some walls are missing entirely.  It’s dirty and cold. We know there is an excellent plan for construction, and by this time next year (if all goes according to schedule) it will be beautiful and well-lit - a place full of life and power. But for now it’s tough to look beyond the grimy windows, dirty floors and broken fixtures to see what it will become.

There is a metaphor here for our life in Christ. Before we come to Him, we might look OK on the outside, but our souls are dirty and broken, unfit for His perfect Kingdom.  When we trust in Him and the Holy Spirit begins to work on us, we too are changed, becoming full of His power and everlasting life.  Better than being refurbished, we become new creations in Christ (2 Cor 5:17). It’s hard to see beyond our daily struggles and sins to what we will become when we surrender to God’s will, but He is the divine architect and we trust that when He builds us up to be like Christ we will be truly beautiful.

We pray that the transformation of this building over the coming months will pale in comparison to the transforming of lives, marriages, families and eternal destinies that we will see in the years to come as we worship the One True God together.  As rooms are built at the Oldham Campus, let our prayer be that lives will be transformed by Christ and that many new rooms will be prepared in the Father’s House (John 14:2) as a result.

If you were there on Sunday, what did you see?
  • Starting to look like a church body!

It was a man praying with a couple facing some difficult career decisions in the near future. It was a couple sharing their excitement about the new thing God is doing and finding their role in it. It was one woman praying for another woman who is facing some painful trials in her personal life. It was one guy praying for another guy who is searching for work. It was a humble servant willing to help make things happen on just a couple of hours sleep. It was an unchurched young lady investigating what God is doing here and expressing her desire to be a part of it.

    What is it?

    It is the Oldham Campus.

On Sunday afternoon, 335 people came together at the Kavanaugh Center in Crestwood to hear the ministry plans for the Oldham Campus. God is clearly building and shaping a group of faithful followers into a committed community. My favorite part of Sunday was that we weren't just talking about plans for the church, we were being the church!

Thanks to all who came. If you weren't able to make it, Kurt and I worked through the ministry plans using this powerpoint Jan 17th Oldham Campus Ministry Plan Presentation - please feel free to check it out and shoot us any questions.

  • We're ready to launch!

We had a great turn out Sunday, Dec 6th for our Oldham Campus informational meeting. Thanks to everyone who attended. It was great to see both familiar and new faces. We are so encouraged by your excitement over what God is doing in the life of this church. You heard Kurt mention we have 2 buildings going up. The first building is the renovated grocery store. The second, and more important building, is the community of believers God is calling to serve at Oldham campus. So far to date, we've had over 800 people express interest in being a part of the Oldham campus!

The Oldham Campus will begin meeting as a community of believers once a month starting on Sunday, Jan 17th, 3:30 p.m, at the Kavanaugh Center in Crestwood.

Each month we will come together to pray, build community among one another, and prepare our hearts and minds for what God wants to do in and through us over the next year leading up to our public launch.

On the 17th you can expect to hear more details on the ministry plans, as well as the various roles where we will need servants to step in and take ownership.

We know lots of you still have questions, so we're asking you to send those questions to us through click on the
Oldham Campus tab and go to the Get Involved section. We will do our best to answer as many as possible at our January meeting.

We will be providing childcare for children ages 3 years old to 4th grade level. If you would like to register your children, please visit our website www.southeastchristian.org <
http://www.southeastchristian.org/>  <http://www.southeastchristian.org <http://www.southeastchristian.org/> > and click on the Oldham Campus tab, click on the get involved tab and fill out the required fields.

    Merry Christmas!

Welcome to the Oldham Campus Website!

I am so grateful to God and to the leadership of Southeast Christian Church for the opportunity to lead this campus. My wife Kristen and I, along with our four children, Olivia, Drew, Ivy and Ellie, are incredibly excited about what God wants to do through this new multi-site.

Would you please pray with me for God to do immeasurably more than we could all ask or imagine in the lives of the families and individuals He will send our way. Pray that the Oldham family will be transformed into the image of His Son and that together we will bring great glory and honor to His name. Pray also for all the details including getting the building ready to open, the hiring of campus staff and, most importantly, preparing volunteer leaders who will make disciples, who will make disciples, who will make disciples!

If you are interested in being involved with the Oldham campus, you can sign up through the link on the right to receive more information and updates as we work our way toward launch in the fall of 2010.

Thank you for partnering with us in this Kingdom adventure!

For His Glory,

Kurt Sauder
Campus Pastor
